A drain assembly 10 for a drain or gully in a floor comprises a frame base 11 for operative attachment to the drain or gully, a drain cover insert 12 and an outer frame 13. The frame base includes a central aperture 32 and a peripheral upstanding frame base wall 33. The outer frame 13 is positionable between the frame base wall 33 and the drain cover insert 12. The drain assembly may also comprise a tiling installation aid 14 having a shape corresponding to a shape of the drain cover insert and having a peripheral tiling installation aid wall adapted to rest on the frame base wall.
