A building brick or block 1 for constructing masonry walls having a cast concrete block 2 a stone component, preferable a thinner stone slip veneer 3, and an attachment element, e.g. steel or plastic dowel 4, wherein the stone veneer is secured to the dowel by adhesive, and wherein the stone veneer is bonded to the concrete block. The dowel may be glued into a hole (5, Fig. 2) in the back of the stone veneer. A manufacturing method is claimed wherein the veneer with dowel attached is placed at the bottom of a mould and concrete is poured into the mould so that the dowel is securely embedded in the concrete once cured. Also claimed is a wall comprising a plurality of blocks, wherein standard cement and sand mortar mix is used between concrete blocks, and the wall is pointed or grouted with lime and sand mortar between veneer slips – see Figure 7. A special corner block may include an elongate veneer with an overlapping section extending beyond the concrete block, for adhering to the concrete side of an adjacent corner block using lime putty – see Figure 8.
