A cleaning apparatus head (1000) for cleaning roofs, comprises a scraper (1030) and two intersecting fluid jets (1022, 1034) positioned so that an intersection region of the jets is upstream of the scraper. One of the jets may be of gas and the other of liquid. The liquid may be supplied to the jet at pressure of 1 bar (100kPa), around atmospheric pressure, or lower and the gas supply pressurised at a higher pressure.
