The lighting bollard 10 in which a transparent housing member having a generally frustoconical form such that an opening at its first end is wider than its second end. A transparent lid 12 is sealed shut over the opening and one or more internal support members support a solar generator 14 beneath the lid. An array of lights 20 beneath the solar generator emit light through the transparent housing in use. A battery 26 is arranged to be charged by the solar generator and to provide power to the lights. The lid comprises an anti-rotation formation (42, figure 2B, 2C) for engagement with a corresponding anti-rotation formation of the housing and an alignment formation for engagement with a corresponding alignment formation of the one or more internal support member. The sealed lighting bollard offers a plug-and-play lighting module that is resilient to vandalism, including removal of the lid.
