Improvements relating to fire doors
A door leaf 2 is defined with first 6 and second 8 metal panels or plates. There is a metal core 15 between them, which has a cellular or honey-comb structure, and it is bonded to the first and second metal panels using an inorganic adhesive 24. The core may be an array of elongate cells 1, separated by cell walls or webs, which may have a polygon or hexagonal cross section. The cells may be orientated in the thickness T direction of the door leaf. The panels may be formed from steel and the metal core from aluminium. The adhesive may be a silicate adhesive which may have no more that 15 percent by weight of organic material. A door and frame assembly which contains the door leaf is also disclosed.
