A finger guard assembly for a door 2 comprising a first strip 8 having means to attach the strip along at least part of the length of the door frame 4, a second strip 10 connectable to and along at least part of one edge of the first strip on one side 12 of the door frame, and a third strip 14 connectable to and along at least part of an opposing side of the first strip on the other side 16 of the door frame. The second and third strips may provide a physical barrier along each side of the door frame do prevent insertion of a user’s fingers. The strips may comprise a thermoplastic polymer like ABS. The first strip may be L-shaped. The first 18 and second 22 arms of the first strip may be respectively attached to a sidewall of a door stop 20 of the frame and a door jam 24 of the frame using self-adhesive tape. A longitudinal edge of the second arm may comprise dovetail recesses. The assembly may comprise two connecting members each having a complementary dovetail shaped profile at one end to be received by recesses of the first strip. The second and third strips may each comprise a plurality of sections divided by flexible hinges.
