Flooring panel and flooring panel assembly
Flooring panel 14 for a floor heating system, comprising a planar body 16 comprising first 16a and second 16b opposed surfaces, at least one channel 18 within the body for receiving a conduit C, the at least one channel extending in a plane parallel with the first and second surfaces and comprising an opening 20 in the first surface, and a foil layer 24 disposed upon the first surface which extends across the opening and comprises a plurality of perforations 26 adjacent the opening. The perforations may extend in a direction parallel to the opening along its central region. The channel may be arcuate and linear. The body may comprise expanded polystyrene foam. The foil may be metal or metal alloy such as aluminium or aluminium alloy. An elastomeric acoustic insulation layer 22 such as neoprene rubber may be disposed on the second surface. An underlay 40 or fibreglass mesh 46 may be disposed on the foil with at least one opening adjacent the perforations. The perforations may be intermittent slits which help preserve a structural integrity of the panel by minimising flexing of the panel adjacent the base of the channel. Also claimed is a kit comprising the panel and a perforating tool T.
