Cement-based materials
A composition comprising a cementitious material, water, graphene nanoplatelets and graphene oxide nanoplatelets, wherein the total graphene material (graphene nanoplatelets and graphene oxide nanoplatelets) content of the composition is from 0.005 to 0.5 wt% relative to the content of the cementitious material, and wherein the concentration ratio of graphene oxide nanoplatelets to graphene nanoplatelets is from 0.025:1 to 1:1. The composition may further comprise aggregate, optionally in an amount of 40-90 wt%. A method of forming a composition is also defined comprising mixing a cementitious material, water, and an additive, wherein the additive comprises graphene nanoplatelets, graphene oxide nanoplatelets and water, and the concentration of graphene nanoplatelets and graphene oxide nanoplates in the additive is from 29-150 mgmL-1 and 1-50 mgmL-1 respectively. A material obtainable by curing the composition is further defined, as is a composition obtainable by the method, and a material obtainable by curing the composition made by the method. A further method is defined for forming a hardened material comprising forming a composition by the method and curing the composition.
