Retractable cab protection system
A cab protector 10 for protecting a cab 12 of a vehicle, the cab having a forward-facing windscreen 14 and a roof portion 16 at an angle relative to the windscreen, the cab protector comprising: a plurality of guide rails 18 for fixing adjacent the cab with, in use, a first guide rail portion 28 located adjacent the windscreen and a second guide rail portion 30, angled relative to said first guide rail portion, located adjacent the roof portion of the cab; at least one first grille 34 having a plurality of grille portions (40, 42 figure 2), wherein said first grille is slidably connected at a plurality of first connection locations to at least one guide of each said guide rail; and a grille mover 20 for moving said grille along said guide rail between a working condition wherein said first grille is located adjacent the cab windscreen and a non-working condition wherein at least one said portion of said first grille is located adjacent the roof portion (figure 3). The grille mover may comprise a manual winch or a motor and pulley system.
