Device, apparatus, system and method for sediment plume suppression
A device 10 for use in the suppression of a sediment plume (P, Fig 3). The device comprises an inlet arrangement 12 for receiving therethrough a fluid flow F and an outlet arrangement 14 for directing said fluid flow out from the device. The outlet arrangement is configured to redirect at least a portion of the fluid flow F received through the inlet arrangement to form a fluid barrier inhibiting the formation and/or movement of the sediment plume. An underwater apparatus comprising the device, an underwater system comprising the device and a method for suppression of sediment plume using the device are also described. Preferably, the device redirects at least a portion of the fluid flow in a lateral direction and/or a forward direction and/or a rearward direction. Preferably, the device comprises a rotor. Preferably, the device comprises a stator. Preferably, the device comprises a rotary drive arrangement.
