PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress breakage and destruction even on the occurrence of earthquakes.SOLUTION: A smokeproof hanging wall 100 includes: a stationary wall 10 that is provided in such a manner as to hang from a ceiling; a rotary door 20 that is arranged in such a manner as to continue into the stationary wall 10 and that is pivotally supported in such a manner as to be rotatable in a part 21V on the other side of a part 21U continuing into the stationary wall 10; and urging means that imparts a rotational force to the rotary door 20 and that rotates the rotary door 20 in a direction in which the part 21U, continuing into the stationary wall 10, of the rotary door 20 gets close to the stationary wall 10.
