PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch body stopper for switchgear for enabling tensioning force for turning on a brake gear to quickly act on a string-like member.SOLUTION: A locking wire 36 is a string-like member which extends in an opening movement direction of a shutter curtain 1 that is a switch body from a rotation member provided inside a case 33 disposed on the shutter curtain 1, and on which tensioning force for turning on a brake gear by sliding a slide member for performing on/off switching on the brake gear acts. The locking wire 36 is slidably inserted inside an outer cable 114 that is a tubular member having one end 114A inserted in and supported by a support member 38 attached to a lintel 16 that is an upper side formation member, at a height position higher than the lintel 16; and extends in an oblique upper direction having a component in the opening movement direction of the shutter curtain 1.
