PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting device applicable commonly to doors of a door series, and a vehicle door provided with the lifting device.SOLUTION: A lifting device 4 is for lifting/lowering a window glass of a side door, and includes a driving mechanism 20 for lifting/lowering the window glass, a support plate 10 that supports the driving mechanism 20, and a first carrier 31 fitted slidably on the support plate 10 and lifted/lowered by the driving mechanism 20. The support plate 10 has an open hole 13 through which a stopper is inserted, the stopper being installed on an inner panel of the side door for halting movement of the first carrier 31.
