A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eaves ventilation structure having a protected connection between a ventilation member and an external wall member and therefore improved fire resistance.SOLUTION: A ventilation member 15 and an external wall member 35 that constitute an eaves ventilation structure 11 include an extended part 20 and a receiving part 39, respectively, and the extended part 20 is engaged slidably in a horizontal direction with the receiving part 39. A thermal-expansion sealing 32 is filled in a space (S) at a connection between the ventilation member 15 and the external wall member 35, the space being formed by an eaves part 19, the extended part 20, and a part 38 facing the eaves, and having an inverted U-shape cross-section in a shorter side direction of a roof material. The configuration allows the connection between the ventilation member 15 and the external wall member 35 to be protected even when a fire breaks out in a house provided with the eaves ventilation structure 11, by the thermal-expansion sealing 32 expanded by the heat.
