PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a lining plate between earth retaining members installed on both end sides in the width direction of an excavation groove, without using an awning deck.SOLUTION: A road surface lining method comprises a process of respectively mutually oppositely arranging an earth retaining member 10 on both sides in the width direction of an excavation groove and a process of arranging a rectangular lining plate 5 between the earth retaining members 10 in the width direction of the excavation groove. In the process of arranging the earth retaining member 10, the earth retaining member 10 having an overhang part 11 of overhanging in the horizontal direction is arranged so that the overhang part 11 overhangs toward the inside in the width direction of the excavation groove. In the process of arranging the lining plate 5, the lining plate 5 of becoming longer than an interval of the overhang part 11 in the length in the lengthwise direction of the lining plate 5, is placed on the overhang part 11 in the direction for mutually coinciding between the lengthwise direction of the lining plate 5 and the width direction of the excavation groove.
