PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of surely and effectively conducting a carbonation treatment in a method for carbonate treatment of a steel slag by supplying CO-containing gas containing carbon dioxide to the steel slag and adding mechanical agitation.SOLUTION: There is provided a carbonation treatment of a steel slag including agitation by mechanical means so that reduction percentage before and after the carbonation treatment between mass fraction of slag particles having particle size of 2.36 mm or less contained in the steel slag before the carbonation treatment (T) and mass fraction of slag particles having particle size of 2.36 mm or less contained in the steel slag obtained by the carbonation treatment (T), [[(T-T)/T]×100], becomes less than 30%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
