PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground improvement pile and a ground improvement method that promote compaction of a fine-grained soil ground, and dissipate excess pore water pressure in a coarse-grained soil ground and perform compaction of the coarse-grained soil ground, while attempting to reduce construction costs and curtail a construction period.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a ground improvement pile 1 installed in a ground 8. The ground improvement pile 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a pile side surface 2 of a roughly tapered form that inclines from an end 1a to the other end 1b, and a pile interior 3 of a roughly hollow form surrounded by the pile side surface 2.
