PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle seat for a door that does not require the need for a tool such as a screwdriver etc., for fitting to the door and is superior in workability.SOLUTION: There is provided a handle seat for a door comprising a pair of pedestals 5, 6 fitted to both wall surfaces 1a, 1b of the door 1 so as to support a handle 2 of the door 1, and fastened to each other across the door 1. The one pedestal 6 comprises a rear cover 20 as a base, a screw member 22 supported rotatably on the rear cover 20, a top cover 21 as an operation member supported rotatably on the rear cover 20 and operated to rotate, and a gear transmission mechanism for transmitting rotation of the top cover 21 to the screw member 22, the other pedestal 5 being provided with a screw part 12 that the screw member 22 threadably engages.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
