PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tsunami evacuation shelter that dramatically curtails evacuation time, by reducing a travel distance to an evacuation facility especially for wheel chair users, elders, children and visually handicapped persons, in view of a fact that over 20,000 people were killed in the Great East Japan Earthquake before evacuating.SOLUTION: A tsunami evacuation shelter is structured to allow a bedridden person in a need of nursing care to evacuate with an assistance by only a few caretakers and a wheel chair user to evacuate into a shelter body 1 by himself/herself. The evacuation shelter also allows a user to come out of the shelter body 1 and a shelter dock 2 by himself/herself, in a same way as the user came in.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
