BASE ISOLATION DEVICE AND BASE ISOLATION METHOD
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device and base isolation method capable of absorbing falling impact force of a structure even in a case of receiving unexpectedly large long-cycle earthquake motion to the structure.SOLUTION: A base isolation device 3 installed between a structure 12 and a foundation floor 1 includes: a support plate 6 opposite to the structure with a predetermined interval; a base plate 4 fixed to the foundation floor; and an elastoplastic damper 8 installed between the support plate and the base plate, and fixed to the support plate and the base plate. The elastoplastic damper includes an inner cylinder 5 and an outer cylinder 7 sliding mutually, and an elastoplastic member 14 provided inside the inner cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
