EXISTING BUILDING STRENGTHENING METHOD
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an existing building strengthening method which enables strengthening work of structural members installed astride respective neighboring spaces to be independently implemented on a space to space basis.SOLUTION: An existing building strengthening method is for seismic strengthening of a first structural member 12 of an existing building 10 which has the first structural member 12 installed astride neighboring first space 16 and a second space 18 and a second structural member 14 which is installed in a direction orthogonal to the first structural member 12 and separates the first space 16 from the second space 18. The existing building strengthening method has the processes to: attach a joint member 24 to a tip of first reinforcement 26 in the first space 16 where preceding seismic strengthening work is implemented and strengthen the first structural member 12 by placing concrete 22 with the tip of the joint member 24 brought into contact with the second structural member 14; and expose the joint member 24 by chipping the second structural member 14 from a side of the second space 14 after the preceding seismic strengthening work and strengthen the first structural member 12 by placing the concrete 22 with second reinforcement inserted into the joint member 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
