PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated prestressing steel strand which can easily transfer distortion of an element wire and which facilitates protection of an optical fiber.SOLUTION: A coated prestressing steel strand includes: a strand in which a plurality of steel element wires are stranded together; a corrosion-proof covering that has an outer peripheral part for covering an outer periphery of the strand; an outside covering for covering an outer periphery of the corrosion-proof covering; and an optical fiber that is provided in such a manner as to follow expansion/contraction of the strand, in a location corresponding to a stranded groove of the strand, on the inside with respect to an outer peripheral surface of the outside covering.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
