PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly and readily fix a down-pipe support with a down-pipe, regardless of whether there is an irregularity on an exterior wall.SOLUTION: A down-pipe installation method includes the following steps for: installing a down-pipe support 1 that supports a down-pipe 2 on a wall surface T of a building, and installing a positioning ruler 3 at a prescribed location on a wall surface T, the positioning ruler having a plurality of cutout recesses 31 to which the down-pipe support 1 may be engaged; engaging the down-pipe support 1 with the cutout recess 31 of the positioning ruler 3, and maintaining the down-pipe support at a prescribed attitude; and fixing the down-pipe support 1 on the wall surface T, keeping the maintained attitude. The positioning ruler 3 may be installed on the wall surface T by engaging the fixed down-pipe support 1 with a part of the plurality of cutout recesses 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
