PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermocouple enabling temperature of material in a high temperature range of 1500°C or higher to be accurately and inexpensively measured.SOLUTION: The thermocouple comprises a first electrically conductive member 1 and a second electrically conductive member 2. The first electrically conductive member 1 and the second electrically conductive member 2 are connected to each other to form a temperature measuring point, and the first electrically conductive member 1 contains a first electrically conductive ceramic composed of: at least one of zirconium diboride and titanium diboride; silicon carbide; a sintering aid; and inevitable impurities. In the first electrically conductive ceramic, the content of silicon carbide is 5 mass % or more and 40 mass % or less. The second electrically conductive member 2 contains a second electrically conductive ceramic whose main constituent material is boron carbide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
