REFRACTORY BLOCK FORMED OF SILICON CARBIDE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory block formed of silicon carbide capable of enhancing corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a block comprising: a refractory block body 1 formed of a refractory made of silicon carbide having a predetermined shape; and a burned coating layer 2 which is made a silicon oxide by heating an external surface of the block body 1 in an oxygen atmosphere and oxidizing at least a part of the silicon oxide. The burned coating layer 2 is sintered with the silicon oxide, therefore corrosion resistance is enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】耐食性の増す炭化珪素質耐火ブロックを提供する。【解決手段】所定形状を有する炭化珪素質耐火物からなる耐火性ブロック本体1と該ブロック本体1の外表面部分を酸素雰囲気で加熱して少なくとも一部の炭化珪素を酸化して酸化珪素とした焼成被膜層2を有するブロックとした。焼成被膜層2が酸化珪素で焼結されて耐食性が増す。【選択図】図1
