PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure high safety and workability by preventing scattering of dust during drilling.SOLUTION: A drilling method according to an embodiment is used to form a hole in a roof material. The drilling method is characterized as follows: a foundation hole with a predetermined depth smaller in dimension than thickness of the roof material is formed; a wet material is supplied to the foundation hole; and the foundation hole is drilled through a part with rest of the thickness after supply of the wet material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
