PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work machine and a support mechanism for a controlling gear that suppress vibration of the controlling gear caused by vibration generated while traveling and working, when the controlling gear is installed beside a driver seat and is rotatable in an upward direction.SOLUTION: A work machine includes a driver seat, a controlling gear that is with a controlling lever and rotatable between a first position beside the driver seat and a second position above the first position, and a work device controlled by the controlling lever. A point of support of rotation is located above a center of gravity of the controlling gear when the controlling gear is in the first position. A support mechanism for the controlling gear includes a support part supporting the controlling gear with the controlling lever rotatably between the first position beside the driver seat and the second position above the first position. The support part supports the point of support of rotation above the center of gravity of the controlling gear, when the controlling gear is in the first position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
