PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding material for an artificial marble in which the adhesion of a pattern material with large particle diameters is satisfactory, and excellent in surface smoothness, and the artificial marble.SOLUTION: There is provided a molding material for an artificial marble, containing: a styrene-containing unsaturated polyester resin (A); an inorganic filler (B); a pattern material (C) with the particle diameter of 0.5 to 2 mm; and glass fiber (D), in which the pattern material (C) is obtained by pulverizing a cured matter obtained by curing a resin compound (c) including the unsaturated polyester resin (A) and the inorganic filler (B), and the residual styrene amount in the pattern material (C) is 1 mass% or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】大粒径の柄材の密着性が良好であり、表面平滑性に優れる人造大理石が得られる人造大理石用成形材料及び人造大理石を提供する。【解決手段】スチレンを含有する不飽和ポリエステル樹脂（Ａ）、無機充填剤（Ｂ）、粒径が０．５〜２ｍｍの範囲である柄材（Ｃ）、及びガラス繊維（Ｄ）を含有する人造大理石用成形材料であって、前記柄材（Ｃ）が、前記不飽和ポリエステル樹脂（Ａ）及び前記無機充填剤（Ｂ）を含有する樹脂コンパウンド（ｃ）を硬化させて得られた硬化物を粉砕して得られたものであり、前記柄材（Ｃ）中の残存スチレン量が１質量％以下であることを特徴とする人造大理石用成形材料を用いる。【選択図】なし
