PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable handrail, capable of not only assisting ascent-descent of stairs of a user but also preventing a fall, and also usable even for a bent handrail.SOLUTION: A movable handrail comprises a slider 11 movably supported along a handrail 3, a gripping bar 20 extending from the slider 11, a rack 5 along the handrail 3, a gear 12 provided in the slider 11 and rotatable in a state of engaging with the rack 5 and a lock mechanism capable of restricting the movement of the slider 11. In the lock mechanism, while allowing rotation of the gear 12 in the direction for ascending stairs 1 regardless of the existence of operation of an operation handle 30, when operating the operation handle 30, the rotation of the gear 12 in the direction for descending the stairs 1 is allowed, and when the operation handle 30 is not operated, the rotation of the gear 12 in the direction for descending the stairs 1 is regulated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】利用者の階段の昇降を補助するだけでなく転落を防止でき、しかも、曲がった手摺にも使用できる可動手摺を提供する。【解決手段】手摺３に沿って移動可能に支持されたスライダー１１と、該スライダー１１より延びる把持バー２０と、手摺３に沿ったラック５と、スライダー１１に設けられラック５に係合した状態で回転可能な歯車１２と、スライダー１１の動きを拘束可能なロック機構とを有する。ロック機構では、操作ハンドル３０の操作の有無に関わらず、階段１を昇る方向への歯車１２の回転を許容する一方、操作ハンドル３０の操作時に、階段１を降る方向への歯車１２の回転を許容し、かつ該操作ハンドル３０の非操作時に、階段１を降る方向への歯車１２の回転を規制する。【選択図】図１
