PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant for hydraulic composition high in coagulation rate, excellent in flow retention capacity and capable of suppressing increase of viscosity when made as a hydraulic composition and the hydraulic composition containing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a dispersant for hydraulic composition containing a polycarboxylic acid copolymer containing a constitutional unit derived from a monomer represented by the formula (1), an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid-based constitutional unit and a constitutional unit derived from an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid monomer or a salt thereof (A). R-O-(AO)-R(1), where Ris C2 to 5, AO is each independently a C2 to 18 oxyalkylene group, n1 is average addition mole number of the oxyalkylene group and the number of 1 to 200 and Ris H or a C1 to 30 hydrocarbon group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
