PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMIC, PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMIC ELECTRONIC PARTS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMIC
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize: a piezoelectric ceramic which has a high mechanical quality coefficient Qm and a good mechanical strength, and enables the suppression of occurrence of a structural defect such as a crack; various piezoelectric ceramic electronic parts arranged by use of the piezoelectric ceramic, which are suitable for high-power devices including a piezoelectric transformer and a piezoelectric actuator; and a method for manufacturing the piezoelectric ceramic.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric ceramic comprises a PZT-based perovskite compound and is formed by a sintered compact 3 including crystal grains 1 and crystal grain boundaries 2. Pb present at the crystal grain boundaries 2 is 6×10or less which is a value converted to a rate per unit weight of the sintered compact 3. A method for manufacturing the piezoelectric ceramic comprises a sintering step which includes sintering a ceramic compact at a first predetermined temperature for a short time and then, sintering it at a second predetermined temperature lower than the first predetermined temperature for a long time, thereby making Pb present at the crystal grain boundaries 2 6×10or less which is a value converted to a rate per unit weight of the sintered compact 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】機械的品質係数Qmが高く、クラック等の構造欠陥の発生を抑制でき、機械的強度が良好な圧電セラミック、この圧電セラミックを使用した圧電トランスや圧電アクチュエータ等のハイパワーデバイスに適した各種圧電セラミック電子部品、及び上記圧電セラミックの製造方法を実現する。【解決手段】PZT系のペロブスカイト型化合物を含有し、結晶粒子1と結晶粒界2とを備えた焼結体3で形成されると共に、結晶粒界2に存在するPbが、焼結体3の単位重量当たりの比率に換算し、6×10-4以下である。焼成工程は、第1の所定温度で短時間焼成した後、第1の所定温度より低い第2の所定温度で長時間焼成し、結晶粒界2に存在するPbを焼結体3の単位重量当たりの比率に換算し6×10-4以下とする。【選択図】図1
