PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing member that fastens a column and a horizontal member in a semi-rigid state and fitted at a construction site without embedding a metallic material in the horizontal member, for enhancing reinforcing strength and contributing toward promotion of lumber usage, the reinforcing member also having a wooden decorative surface that retains design at a location of usage and allowing a length thereof to be changed readily.SOLUTION: A reinforcing member includes a first metallic material 1 having: a first metallic plate coming in contact with an outer surface of a column 91 and extending to a prescribed support point Y1, and fastened to the column 91; and a second plate coming in contact with an outer surface of a beam 92 and extending to a prescribed support point X1, and fastened to the beam 92. The first metallic material 1 includes a fitting part for fitting an additional reinforcing material that extends at least either of the supporting points Y1 and X1 of the column 91 and the beam 92.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
