BUFFER AND BUILDING OF NUCLEAR FACILITY
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer and the like, which can suitably cushion an impact caused by a collision between an upper foundation slab and a retaining wall, even when the upper foundation slab is displaced in multiple directions including horizontal and vertical directions.SOLUTION: A buffer 51 is provided in a building 1 including: a lower foundation slab 31 that is provided on ground 22; an upper foundation slab 32 that is provided above the lower foundation slab 31; a base-isolating device 33 that is provided between the upper and lower foundation slabs 32 and 31; and a retaining wall 34 that is provided around the upper foundation slab 32. The buffer is provided between the upper foundation slab 32 and the retaining wall 34, and mounted around the upper foundation slab 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
