METHOD OF MANUFACTURING REFRACTORY FOR GAS BLOWING NOZZLE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a refractory for a gas blowing nozzle capable of improving the serviceability of the gas blowing nozzle.SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing a refractory for a gas blowing nozzle with one or more metal capillaries for gas blowing embedded in a carbon-containing refractory, after the carbon-containing refractory with metal capillaries embedded is fired by non-oxidation, this carbon-containing refractory is subjected to impregnation treatment for impregnating an organic substance with an actual carbon ratio of 30 mass% or more. This impregnation treatment with non-oxidative firing organic substance enhances the fracture energy of the carbon-containing refractory with metal capillaries embedded, suppresses the extension of cracks generated by a sudden temperature gradient in a vicinity of a nozzle operating face upon the use of a gas blowing nozzle, so that the lifetime of the gas blowing nozzle largely improves.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】ガス吹き込みノズルの耐用性を向上させることができるガス吹き込みノズル用耐火物の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】炭素含有耐火物にガス吹込み用の金属細管が1本以上埋設されたガス吹き込みノズル用耐火物の製造方法において、金属細管が埋設された炭素含有耐火物を非酸化焼成した後、この炭素含有耐火物に、残炭率が30質量%以上の有機物を含浸させる含浸処理を施す。この非酸化焼成・有機物の含浸処理により、金属細管が埋設された炭素含有耐火物の破壊エネルギーが高まり、ガス吹き込みノズルを使用した際のノズル稼働面付近における急激な温度勾配によって発生する亀裂の伸展が抑制され、その結果、ガス吹き込みノズルの寿命が大きく向上する。【選択図】なし
