PLANAR OPTICAL ELEMENT, ILLUMINATION DEVICE, AND BUILDING MATERIAL
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar optical element which can change an optical state by applying a voltage and in which appearance unevenness hardly occurs even in an environment where a temperature variation exists.SOLUTION: A planar optical element 1 includes an optical function unit 2 having two electrodes 3 opposed to each other along a first direction D1, and an optical functional layer 4 which is interposed between the two electrodes 3 and in which the degree of an optical characteristic selected from a light scattering property, a light reflection property and a light absorbing property varies according to a change in voltage applied between the electrodes 3. The interval between the two electrodes 3 decreases in a second direction D2 orthogonal to the first direction D1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
