PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface layer body of racecourses and athletic facilities having excellent cushioning properties, water permeability, and chip separability, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a surface layer body 5 of racecourses and athletic facilities formed on a base course. The surface layer body has sand 6, a crushed product 7 having crosslinked polyethylene, and a binder. The crushed product having crosslinked polyethylene has a specific surface of 0.003-0.010 m/g by mercury porosimetry.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
