PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorption preventing material in which the application amount can be quantified easily and accurately, and to provide a method for preventing water-absorption of a concrete member by using said water-absorption preventing material.SOLUTION: Provided are: a water-absorption preventing material containing at least one main agent selected from a silane compound and a siloxane compound, and a labelling particle containing a particular element detectable by a fluorescent X-ray analysis method, the labelling particle satisfying, in a particle diameter distribution measured by a laser diffraction scattering method, the following formula (1); and a method for preventing water-absorption of a concrete member by using said water-absorption preventing material. D90/D10<30 (1).
