PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of imparting earthquake-resistant strength to a building and a mat foundation by the small number of shock absorbers and achieving a sufficient shock absorbing effect against both short-period and long-period earthquake ground motions, and a building foundation structure.SOLUTION: In a building foundation structure, a shock absorber 20, in which a hard block 30 and an elastic mat 40 are superposed on each other, is interposed and inserted between ground and a mat foundation 2.
