PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lavatory adjacent to a bathroom, having a wash stand and a washing machine installation space laid out opposite each other, and with a space between the wash stand and the washing machine installation space leading to an entrance to the bathroom, the lavatory allowing a sufficient effective opening to be secured for the entrance to the bathroom.SOLUTION: A lavatory 1 is adjacent to a bathroom 2, has a wash stand 4 and a washing machine installation space 51 for installing a washing machine 5 laid out opposite each other in a first direction, with a space between the wash stand 4 and the washing machine installation space 51 leading to an entrance 21 to the bathroom 2. A first wall part (wall part) 31 is provided at a boundary with the bathroom 2 in the first direction, and the entrance 21 is provided on the first wall part 31 on a side in the first direction. The wash stand 4 is smaller in a dimension in the first direction than the washing machine installation space 51, and is laid out on the side of the first wall part 31 in the first direction, to face the other side in the first direction.
