PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved tie bar of a casement window capable of being easily mounted along an inner surface of a window frame, and a tie bar guide system.SOLUTION: The invention comprises: a tie bar guide 20 including first and second receiving grooves for slidably receiving a tie bar part by tongue-and-groove means; and a tie bar 10 adapted so as to slide axially in a direction parallel to a window frame surface and having a partially curved profile and a cross section, including a flat central portion with a first section having a first salient part and a second section having a second salient part on an opposite side of the first section relative to the central portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
