SEALED HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed honeycomb structure with excellent regeneration efficiency at the regeneration time for burning and removing soot.SOLUTION: The structure comprises: a columnar honeycomb structure part 9 having porous partition walls 1 arranged to surround plural cells 2; and a sealing part 3 for sealing openings of the cells 2. The honeycomb structure part 9 is constituted by an outer peripheral part 7b including an outermost periphery on a cross section orthogonal to a direction in which the cell 2 of the honeycomb structure part 9 extends, and a center part 7a except for the outer peripheral part 7b. The outer peripheral part 7b includes a specific outer peripheral part 7ba, in which a soot pressure loss when a soot accumulation amount is 4 g/L is higher by 15% or more to a soot pressure loss of the center part 7a, and an opening ratio of the outer peripheral part 7b is identical to or not less than that of the center part 7a. On a cross section orthogonal to a direction in which the cell 2 of the honeycomb structure part 9 extends, a ratio of an area occupied by the specific outer peripheral part 7ba to a total area occupied by the outer peripheral part 7b and the center part 7a is 5% or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】ススを燃焼して除去する再生時の再生効率に優れた目封止ハニカム構造体を提供する。【解決手段】複数のセル2を取り囲むように配置された多孔質の隔壁1を有する柱状のハニカム構造部9と、セル2の開口部を目封止する目封止部3と、を備える。ハニカム構造部9は、ハニカム構造部9のセル2の延びる方向に直交する断面における最外周を含む外周部7bと、この外周部7bを除く中央部7aとによって構成される。外周部7bは、ススの堆積量が4g/Lでのスス付き圧損が、中央部7aのスス付き圧損に対して15%以上高く、且つ、当該外周部7bの開口率が、中央部7aの開口率と同一又はそれ以上である特定外周部7baを含む。ハニカム構造部9のセル2の延びる方向に直交する断面において、外周部7b及び中央部7aが占める総面積に対して、特定外周部7baが占める面積の比率が、5%以上である。【選択図】図2
