PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater tube for molten metal immersion including: a silicon nitride sintered body having a higher thermal conductivity and density than the conventional one and having a good heat transfer coefficient.SOLUTION: A heater tube 1 for molten metal immersion has a cylindrical heater accommodating portion 4 including a closed end 2 and an open end 3. The heater accommodating portion 4 includes: silicon nitride; a compound containing yttrium; and a compound containing magnesium. The surface roughness Ra of the outer peripheral surface of the heater accommodating portion 4 is 0.5 μm or more and 10 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
