PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frother for use in cellular mortar that does not solidify even in a low temperature environment and exhibits excellent work efficiency on a construction site.SOLUTION: The frother for use in cellular mortar comprises a compound (A) represented by formula (I), an 8-20C aliphatic alcohol (B), a compound (C) represented by formula (II), and water (D), with the mass content of the component (C) therein relative to the total mass of the components (A) to (D) being 20 to 39 mass%. Formula (I) is RO(AO)SOM (in the formula, Ris a 8-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; AO is one species of a 2-3C oxyalkylene group or a mixture of two or more species thereof; m is an integer of 0 to 10; and X is an alkali metal, an ammonium group, or an amine). Formula (II) is RO(CHCHO)H (in the formula, Ris a 4C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; and p is an average addition mole number of an oxyethylene group of 1 to 3).SELECTED DRAWING: None
