METHOD OF INSTALLING VACUUM INSULATION GLASS (VIG) WINDOW UNIT ON EXISTING WINDOW SASH AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for easily and cost-effectively installing a VIG window in an existing window structure made for a non-vacuum insulation glass window.SOLUTION: The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus that can replace and/or displace a non-vacuum insulation glass window with a vacuum insulation glass (VIG) window 40 in an existing window assembly frame structure. The width of the VIG window is substantially narrower than the width of existing non-vacuum insulation glass (IG) windows (eg, double, triple or quadruple glass windows). A replacement locking portion 44 that compensates for the difference between the wide width of the non-vacuum insulation glass window and the narrow width of the VIG window is provided. The replacement locking portion may be used in the manufacture of a VIG window unit and/or may be used for replacing with existing and/or pre-installed non-vacuum insulation glass windows.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
