NONWOVEN JOINT TAPE HAVING LOW MOISTURE EXPANSION PROPERTIES
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint tape for finishing a joint between boards (such as drywall, cement board, or the like) comprising a nonwoven substrate which does not expand significantly under presence of water, and which has sufficient intensity so as to withstand tear and crack during application.SOLUTION: There is provided a joint tape comprising a nonwoven substrate comprising a natural pulp fiber of exceeding 0 to less than 1 wt.%, synthetic polymer fiber of 30 wt.% or more, and glass fiber of 0 to less than 50 wt.%, satisfying the following properties, and having, as determined according to ASTM C474-05, (a) a crosswise percent expansion of less than about 1.3%, (b) a lengthwise percent expansion of less than about 0.2%, and (c) a tensile strength of at least about 15 pounds-force per inch in the cross direction. The joint tape has a fluid permeability measured as air resistance according to TAPPI T-460 of about 6 seconds or less and thickness is almost 0.305 mm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】板（ドライウォール、セメント板等）間のジョイントを仕上げるため、水存在下にて有意に膨張せず、かつ、適用している間の裂け及びひび割れに耐性のある十分な強度を有する不織布基材を含むジョイントテープの提供。【解決手段】０超〜１重量％未満の天然パルプ繊維、３０重量％以上の合成ポリマー繊維、及び０〜５０重量％未満のグラスファイバーを含む下記特性を満たす不織布基材を含むジョイントテープ。ＡＳＴＭ Ｃ４７４−０５にて、（ａ）１．３％未満の横方向パーセント伸張、（ｂ）０．２％未満の縦方向パーセント伸張、（ｃ）横方向に１インチあたり少なくとも１５ポンドフォースの引張強度、ＴＡＰＰＩ Ｔ−４６０にて、流体浸透性を空気抵抗として測定し６秒以下、厚みが約０．３０５ｍｍ以下【選択図】なし
