PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous quick lime that has a low residual chlorine concentration and high collapsibility and a method of producing the same.SOLUTION: A porous quick lime has a chlorine concentration of less than 1000 ppm, and is composed of substantially spherical particles. A method for producing porous quick lime includes adding and firing an organic chlorine compound so that a chlorine component is 0.06-0.90 mass% relative to the mass of limestone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
