HONEYCOMB FILTER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HONEYCOMB FILTER
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter which can achieve high filtration efficiency without much higher pressure loss.SOLUTION: A honeycomb filter has a porous honeycomb structure, and contains cordierite as a main component, where a pore size distribution of the porous honeycomb structure satisfies all of the following conditions: (a) D1<7 μm; (b) 10 μm≤D50≤14 μm; and (c) 0.10≤(D90-D10)/D50≤0.78, D1 represents a pore size when 1% of the total pore size volume has a pore size smaller than it, D10 represents a pore size when 10% of the total pore size volume has a pore size smaller than it, D50 represents a pore size when 50% of the total pore size volume has a pore size smaller than it, so-called a median size, and D90 represents a pore size when 90% of the total pore size volume has a pore size smaller than it.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
