PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of efficiently enhancing allelopathic activity that Spiraea thunbergii has.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a proliferation inhibitor of filamentous green algae, which contains leaves of Spiraea thunbergii and/or its extract, and one kind of mineral selected from the group consisting of calcium, magnesium, and manganese. Furthermore, the present invention provides a proliferation inhibition method of the filamentous green algae, which supplies leaves of Spiraea thunbergii and/or its extract and one kind of mineral selected from the group consisting of calcium, magnesium, and manganese into a closed water area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
