To provide an extendable member capable of increasing durability against compressive force against an extension joint and a joint gap, a method of installing the extendable member, and a method of manufacturing the extendable member.SOLUTION: There is provided an extendable member 1 formed from a cement-based material bridged over either an extension joint or a joint gap 23 between a plurality of structures. The extendable member 1 is imparted with tensile strain by being plastically deformed before being bridged over either the extension joint or the joint gap 23, so that durability against a compressive force P against the extension joint and the joint gap can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
