To provide a method for impregnating a high-strength fiber bundle with a thermoplastic resin, without impairing the mechanical strength.SOLUTION: A cable 1 of high-strength fiber composite material is made by impregnating a bundle of carbon fiber 2 with a matrix resin 3. The matrix resin 3 is a mixture of a thermoplastic resin such as polyphenylene sulfide and an oligomer having a weight average molecular weight less than 10000 produced by a reaction of an organic compound having a phenolic hydroxyl group and an organic compound having a glycidyl ether group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
